Abstract
The results are presented of electron—microscopic and experimental studies on the inner ear of the pigeon. The relatively simple principle of the morphological and functional pattern in different parts of the inner ear is demonstrated. It is suggested that a comparison with equivalent structures in other species might be ofvalue for their functional appreciation. Keywords
