Abstract
Treatment of the commercially available 5-chlorovaleryl chloride with different Grignard reagents and lithium powder leads to the formation of ε-oxidofunctionalized organolithium compounds. These dianions react with a wide variety of electrophilic reagents to afford polyfunctionalized compounds. The organolithium compounds obtained are d 5-reagents (reactivity umpolung).Keywords
