Abstract
A method is described for the extraction and estimation of renin from human plasma. Criteria of identity of the extracted enzyme, the enzyme-substrate reaction and the reaction product are given. Recoveries are consistent, and in the range found with a similar procedure for rabbit plasma. The method is sufficiently sensitive to measure peripheral-venous-plasma renin in both normal physiological circumstances and in conditions associated with depression of plasma renin concentration. This publication has 18 references indexed in Scilit:
