Abstract
Early effects of isotonic glucose on the frog''s rectus abdominis include a small or moderate contracture, a decrease of acetylcholine sensitivity, and a marked increase in K sensitivity. These changes are easily reversible. The increased reaction to K is often preceded by a relatively long latent period and sometimes by a slight relaxation of the muscle. The mechanism of these phenomena is not established.Keywords
