Determination of trace amounts of copper, zinc and magnesium in animal feeds by atomic-absorption spectrophotometry

Abstract
An automated method for the determination of copper, zinc and magnesium in animal feeding stuffs by atomic-absorption spectrophotometry is described. Samples are prepared by a dry-ashing method that permits a rapid, accurate and economic assessment of these elements. Analyses are carried out at a rate of 60 samples per hour, with a maximum coefficient of variation of 4 per cent. for each element.
