Abstract
A method is derived for obtaining ion temperatures in a plasma produced by irradiation of a solid target with a Q‐switched laser beam. Ion temperatures are then obtained from published data. For an incident intensity of 6×1010 W/cm2, ion temperatures in the range of 10–40 eV are found. These values are consistent with values of electron temperatures found by others. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
