Advice from Breast-feeding Mothers

Abstract
We are working mothers who are writing to bring to the attention of practicing pediatricians some practical aspects of combining breast-feeding with employment outside the home. Several of us are physicians, mainly pediatricians, yet we feel that we and our pediatricians have not always been sufficiently aware of the special needs of working mothers who breast-feed, and so we have been less helpful to the mothers of some patients than we might have been. We have learned that the nursing problems encountered by mothers who work outside the home include all those encountered by mothers who remain at home, and several more.
