Abstract
A comparison has been made of the degree of sensorineural hearing impairment as measured by bone conduction tests with the amount of endosteum of the inner ear involved by otosclerotic foci. The results of 44 temporal bones from 25 patients have been tabulated. It appears that there is a definite relationship between the amount of endosteum involved by otosclerosis and the degree of sensorineural loss especially when the otosclerotic focus involves the endosteum adjacent to the spiral ligament. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
