Current Assessment Practices: The "Cattle Dip" Approach

Abstract
The results of three separate studies, each employing a different methodology, were analyzed to ascertain the assessment devices used as a function of kind of decistion to be made and type of of student problem, and the technical adequacy of tests used by professionals. In each investigation, the fregueency of usage of thchnically asequate investigation the frequency of findings that certain tests are used in almost every situntion and that various professionals employ a large number of technically inadequate measures are discussed in terms of implications top-current assessment and decision practices.Keywords
