Abstract
CAT activity was determined in the neurointermediate lobe of the rat's pituitary gland. The level of enzyme activity in the adult rat is of 386.2±39.1 picomoles/hour/neurointermediate lobe. CAT activity is present in the pituitary gland of the newborn animal and increases with age. In organotypic cultured neurointermediates lobes CAT decreases progressively and practically disappears after 10 days. Keywords
