Elastic and inelastic scattering studies for the systemsC12+Si28andO16+Si28,29,30

Abstract
Elastic and inelastic excitation functions for the systems C12+ Si28 and O16+ Si28,29,30 have been measured at θc.m.=180° from the Coulomb barrier up to Ec.m.=45 MeV (C12+Si28), Ec.m.=52 MeV (O16+Si28), and Ec.m.=32 MeV (O16+Si29,30). Over the whole energy range they all exhibit pronounced and regular broad oscillations (0.5θ1.5 MeV). Elastic and inelastic angular distributions up to θc.m.=180° were taken at five of the maxima and near a minimum of the excitation function for the system O16+Si28. All angular distributions are oscillatory and exhibit a strong backward rise. The data are discussed in terms of a coherent superposition of a background and a resonant amplitude and in terms of the interference between the internal and barrier wave reflected by a deep optical potential.
