Abstract
Number of saprophytic bacteria, maximum uptake velocity of glucose and phosphate concentration were measured twice a month throughout 1 yr at 9 stations along the axis of the Kiel Fjord. The annual means of all the parameters at different stations decrease gradually from the inner fjord outward. Hydrographic conditions occasionally disturb the general pattern. The importance of various parameters as pollution indicators in brackish areas is discussed. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
