Abstract
This note is of the nature of an addendum to a recent paper on satellite communication systems. It is concerned with the distribution and average durations of innages and outages occurring in transmission systems composed of a number of links. The links of such a composite system may be either in series, as in a radio relay system, or in parallel, as in a many-satellite system. Several results regarding composite transmission systems, including some due to D. S. Palmer, are reviewed, restated, and extendedKeywords
