Abstract
The deactivation of alumina, with respect to N2O decomposition, brought about by doping with various amounts of Li+ and F– ions has been studied. It was demonstrated that the deactivation caused by Li+ is due to the fact that these ions cause a decrease in the specific surface area. On the other hand, it was concluded that the deactivation observed after doping with F– ions should be attributed to both the decrease of the specific surface area and the diminution of the surface concentration of active sites. Keywords
