Abstract
In 115 patients 124 recordings were carried out with electro-manometer and ink jet writer. Two thirds have been subjected to simultaneous cisterno-lumbar recording, and half of these (45) have also been examined at lowered csf pressure. The results of these examinations, including the head posture test, are compared to a calculated lumbar water manometric find and also to the myelographic finding. A successive increase in method sensitivity up to six times that for lumbar water manometrics could be demonstrated. This increase is mainly dependent on recording at lowered pressure, which manipulation has not been systematically studied earlier. The indications for the method in clinical work are mainly as a comfortable screening test for myelogram and as a complement to the myelographic examination.
