Abstract
The speaking fundamental frequency (SFF) was investigated in 9 instutionalized mongoloid girls, ages 8 through 11. The SFF of this group was found to be similar to, but slightly lower than, that for normal subjects of the same age and sex. Physical measurements of these subjects were similar to those for girls 2 or 3 years younger. It was concluded that mongoloid girls do not have an abnormally low SFF but are similar to their peers in this respect even though they are retarded in physical development. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
