Foreign and Domestic Escorted Tour Expectations of American Travelers

Abstract
A national survey of American escorted tour participants showed differences in expectations between domestic tours and foreign tours. Foreign travelers had higher expectations for tour comfort and value along with need for adequate stops, adventure, and educational aspects. Both groups expected the tour to be the best way to see as much as possible with a congenial atmosphere. Additionally, both groups expected comfort, scenery, and experienced tour guider. Tour planning can ensure that expectations are met.
