Abstract
The UV absorp-tion induced in some transparent plastics by irradiation, especiallyin methyl methacrylate (Perspex) and in polyethelyne terephthalate (Melinex) has been studied as a function of the radiation dose given. These materials are very convenient for routine dosimetry of fast electron or X-ray beams in the range from 105 to 108 rads. Calibration curves are given and the techniques, together with the necessary precautions, are described in detail. Keywords
