La rifamycine SV à usage local en oto-rhino-laryngologie

Abstract
The action of rifamycin-SV applied topically in 55 cases of ear, nose and throat infections was studied. Of these 49 were ear infections (otitis-externa, acute and chronic otitis-media, mastoiditis, etc.). Satisfactory results were obtained in 39 of 55 cases; failure were usually observed in cases where a Proteus or a Pseudomonas aeruginosa was involved. Tolerance was always excellent, even in the case of young children. In more than half the cases recovery occurred before the tenth day of local treatment. There are no contraindications. The most important indication seems to be represented by mixed infections, where rifamycin-SV applied topically appears to be very active.
