Abstract
A procedure developed for the observation of the first-division chromosomes of the thick-walled microspores of Gossypium is as follows: fixation in 3:1 ethyl alcohol-propionic acid followed by soaking in 70% alcohol for 24 hr; maceration in a 2:1:1 mixture of 15% CrO3, 10% HNO3, and 5% HCl for 5–7 min; hardening in 1.1 ethyl alcohol-propionic acid; and staining in acetocarmine. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
