Abstract
A previous study disclosed an increase of carcinoma of the prostate gland in each successive decade. Glands of men 80 years or older were used to determine the frequency of carcinoma of the prostate in this age group. Of 98 patients in this age group, 58 step sections were prepared of half of the gland, or the entire gland. In these 58 prostate glands, carcinoma was identified in 33. This method of study yielded a decidedly higher frequency in this age group than has been previously recorded. Keywords
