Abstract
The chemical effects following β-decay of 125Sn in K2SnCl6 crystals have been investigated. The primary process is [graphic omitted]. Secondary processes leading to reduction of 125Sb5+ play an important part in crystals containing crystal defects. Post-decay heat treatments show that three reducing reactions occur between 20 and 250°C. The kinetics of the isothermal annealing of 125Sb recoil species have been investigated and a model for the reactions is proposed. Keywords
