Abstract
Adults of Oithona nana feed on copepod nauplii of 110‐µm body length. An Ivlev curve is used to describe feeding as a function of prey density. At natural prey densities, carnivorous feeding would provide only 25% of its metabolic requirements. Very low respiration rate and the nature of the diet are important considerations in assessing the ecological effect of this abundant species. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
