Abstract
Forty male white rats were trained to press a lever to terminate electric shock. Groups subjected to a current of 0.4 ma. responded more promptly during their first hundred trials and made more extra responses between shocks than groups subjected to 0.2 ma. Promptness of response was also affected by the length of time the shock was turned off following the response: i.e., 5, 10, 20, or 40 sec. Keywords
