Symptomatic relapse in bulimia nervosa following acute tryptophan depletion.

Abstract
BULIMIA NERVOSA (BN) is an eating disorder characterized by recurrent episodes of binge eating accompanied by extreme weight control behavior and overvalued ideas concerning shape and weight.1 Body weight is generally unremarkable.2 There is frequently concomitant major depression.3 The depression often seems to be secondary to the eating disorder because it generally responds to treatments that enhance control over eating4; however, some patients experience distinct episodes of depression prior to the onset of the eating disorder.5
