Abstract
An extensive study of the isomer shift and hyperfine field distribution in the Mossbauer spectra of dilute 57Fe in copper-nickel alloys has shown the existence of metallurgical clustering, both Fe-Fe and Fe-Ni which is partially destroyed by cold working. The doublets observed in the 300 K spectra are produced by electrostatic effects associated with the existence of virtual bound states on both iron and nickel atomsKeywords
