Abstract
The treatment of basal cell carcinomas and senile keratoses with 5-fluoruraciI, retinoic acid ointment or DNCB in alcohol is followed by local inflammation with an erosive reaction on the tumor surface. In comparison with nontreated basal cell carcinomas the infiltrations of the corium with lymphocytes and plasmacytes is increased. This phenomenon seems to be an immunological aggression against the tumor. From the immunological point of view, this observation is concerned with the finding that only the cells of the superficial basal cell carcinomas show contact with lymphocytes and plasmacytes. The local applications seem to be of therapeutic use only in the treatment of superficial basal cell lesions. Keywords
