Abstract
The thermodynamic functions of dilute - solutions are expressed in terms of the excess molar volume in a model-independent fashion. In this way the effective quasi-particle potential is found, without the assumption of Bardeen, Baym, and Pines. We find that the term in the effective potential is completely cancelled, but that new terms of another form appear.
