Abstract
A personal survey was made during the fall of 1967 of child health services in selected western European countries. Particular attention was given to the different roles of government and private practice in the delivery of health services to children, the amount and kinds of preventive health services provided in public health clinics and school health services, availability of health personnel, and the training of physicians and nurses involved in health services for children. There appears to be widespread acceptance of the point of view that good health is a right of all children. Implementation of this point of view has gone forward in all countries while maintaining the concept of private practice and free choice of physician. Keywords
