Abstract
In this paper I will try to defend the thesis that it is possible to consider religious education as a matter of initiation into knowledge without distorting religion, because the two are not identical. After commenting on the difference of orders between religion and religious education, some important implications of this distinction regarding the proper relation of ‘first order’ (religious) experience and religious education will be studied. Keywords
