Abstract
Summary A survey using a questionnaire was made to get information about the methods of treatment of active rheumatoid arthritis by specialists in different countries. The differences between certain countries in choosing non-steroid antirheumatic drugs and the varying impression of rheumatologists in certain countries on new antirheumatic drugs suggests that the methods of treatment may vary in certain races. The number of rheumatologists who do not use chloroquine and gold therapy is 20 and four respectively, out of 107. The majority of the selected rheumatologists administer gold compounds at a dose of 25—100 mg. per month after the success of gold therapy. Prednisolone and prednisone are still the main corticosteroid hormones used frequently by the specialists.
