Abstract
The design and operation of a hollow‐cathode copper‐vapor laser are discussed. The sole source of copper atoms is the pulsed glow discharge inside the hollow cathode, which generates copper vapor by sputtering and heating of the copper‐plated cathode. With no optimization of the laser parameters, 270 mW of green output power have been obtained at a 12‐kHz pulse repetition frequency from a 1‐m‐long tube. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
