Abstract
A general method based on the directional filter bank for the detection and enhancement of linear features in multidimensional data is presented. Results demonstrating the effectiveness of this new method are presented for two trial cases: the enhancement of cell boundaries in biomedical images, and the analysis and enhancement of fingerprints.<>Keywords
