Abstract
Synthetic strategies for designing new 1d magnetic systems are presented. A review is given of some of the structural characteristics which lead to ferromagnetic interactions between metal ions. Results of application of these concepts to the preparation of new quantum 1d systems with ferromagnetic coupling are presented. Special emphasis is given to recent discoveries of spin 1/2 copper (II) salts which have large intrachain coupling. This publication has 29 references indexed in Scilit:
