Abstract
The paper gives a general discussion about the silicon chip industry, of both its present situation and its possible situation in the future. The possible impact of the microprocessor is discussed in great detail and the author comes to the conclusion that the large scale use of this unit will greatly enhance the electronics industry in terms of speed, packing and efficiency and so ultimately decrease costs.Keywords
