Relativistic effects on the lattice dynamics of gold

Abstract
A first-principles calculation of phonon dispersion curves has been made using the resonant model potential by incorporating relativistic effects. The numerical results for gold show that including the relativistic correction lowers the phonon frequencies by 10% in general.Keywords
