Abstract
The mutual coupling between rectangular waveguide elements in a finite ground plane is calculated including the effect of edge diffraction. The edge contribution is obtained as the coupling to an equivalent image element, weighted with the edge diffraction coefficient. Comparison with measured coupling data in the H-plane shows that the edge diffraction effects on coupling, both amplitude and phase, can be accurately predicted down to levels of the order of –70 to –80 dB.Keywords
