Abstract
Analytic expressions previously derived for neutral atoms permit the accurate prediction of inner-shell nonrelativistic dipole photoeffect cross sections for positively charged atomic ions. The simple dependence of these cross sections on nuclear charge and ionic charge results from scaling properties of self-consistent central potentials in the interior of the atom. Comparisons are made with numerical calculations of the same cross sections.
