Abstract

The synthesis of O-.beta.-D-galactopyranosyl (1 .fwdarw. 4)-O-.beta.-D-xylopyranosyl-L-serine is described. The compound can be used in studying the biosynthesis of the linkage between polysaccharide and protein chains in heparin and other animal proteoglycans.
