Abstract
The mass transfer coefficient between the static and dynamic hold-ups in a packed column was studied experimentally by using a salt tracer technique. The viscosity and the surface tension of the irrigating water were varied over a wide range by using additivies. The correlation developed for predicting the mass transfer coefficient involves the Weber number as well as the Reynolds number. Keywords
