Abstract
E[epithelioid]-macrophages [mouse] and E-macrophage polykaryons (epithelioid cells) obtained from s.c. glass coverslips failed to express Ig[immunoglobulin]G (Fe) surface receptors as assessed by phagocytosis of SRBC [sheep red blood cells] coated with specific IgG(E(IgG)). When these cells were incubated with E(IgG) in the presence of levamisole, their capacity to ingest these particles returned. Loss of Fc receptor activity during epithelioid transportation is a reversible phenomenon possibly associated with changes in cyclic AMP.This publication has 15 references indexed in Scilit:
