Abstract
Physiographic and sedimentologic features (grain-size distribution heavy minerals, clays) of every level of terraces of river Seine and of its tributaries have been studied upstream from Rouen ; occurence of paleosols inside the alluvium is very instructive for the building process of terraces. Recent discoveries of remains of pleistocene mammals and of palaeolithic tools contribute to the relative datation of terraces. Periglacial phenomena have been described in Parisian Basin. Keywords
