Abstract
Three cases of fresh-water drowning that were complicated by disseminated intravascular coagulation are described. Close observation for clinical bleeding, laboratory investigation of the coagulation system and therapy for disseminated intravascular coagulation, when appropriate, seem indicated in patients hospitalized after fresh-water immersion. Keywords
