Abstract
The secondary electron yield due to electron capture into continuum states of protons emerging from a solid is calculated for fast channeled protons. The proton flux distribution in the transverse plane, in axial channels, is described by a Gaussian. The results are in reasonable agreement with the existing experimental data on Au. These calculations can be used for obtaining estimates of critical distances. Keywords
