Abstract
The study of the distribution of psychiatric disorders in space and time in African populations, and of the factors that influence this distribution (Lilienfeld (1957)), has had very limited scope in black Africa. Although the shortcomings of earlier epidemiological work in black Africa become obvious when some of the studies are cited, some pertinent general background information is thought necessary by way of introduction. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
