Abstract
The response of certain solid state detectors to large bursts of ionizing particles has been investigated for the purpose of determining what detectors are suitable for recording accurately the sizes and shapes of rapidly changing ionizing flux. Basic design details for a gamma ray detector with response proportional to the incident energy flux are given. Keywords
