Abstract
A method for approximate optimization of superconducting solenoids based on an extension of the classical Fabry formulation is presented. Graphs of pertinent parameters were prepared for the regions of interest for superconductors. Several sample calculations illustrate the differences in design factors as compared with conventional magnets. Keywords
