Abstract
Data are reported from a study of the criminal histories of a large sample of recent drug offenders in Australia. A substantial percentage of the group had been convicted for a criminal offence prior to their first drug offence. The results suggest caution should be exercised in the degree to which criminal activity is attributed to involvement with expensive drugs. Keywords
