Abstract
In hepatitis, there is an increase of both aspartic ketoglutaric and alanine ketoglutaric transaminase with an inversion of their usual ratio. In other infectious diseases, an inversion of the ratio may occur without an increase in values or increased values without inversion. Animal experiments are described which explain these phenomena. Keywords
