Abstract
The study of 12 patients with superficial G3 bladder carcinoma shows a high incidence of carcinoma in situ in the flat mucosa (66.6%, p < 0.001), with a polypoid growth pattern (58.3%) and an evolution similar to isolated carcinoma in situ of the bladder. These data support the hypothesis that this variant of tumor is the expression of a vesical carcinoma in situ diagnosed at the time of intraluminal growth and therefore with its own capacity to become an infiltrative carcinoma.
